            Cheer Clinic for 6th & 7th grade will be held Friday, April 28 thru Friday, May 5th in the FEMA building from 3:30-5:00 pm. 

            Summer School will begin on Tuesday, May 30th and end June 23rd.  

            MASH Camp 2017 - Sponsored by Mercy Hospital - June 22-23rd at Mercy Joplin.  It is a health and science camp for students entering 6th-8th grade next year.  The cost is $20.00.  Register by June 15 at AHEC.MISSOURISTATE.EDU.

            The 7th & 8th grade Athletic Banquet has been rescheduled for Monday, May 15th at 6:00 pm. in the High School Commons area.  Families of all athletes are invited to attend.  Booster Club will provide pizza, table service and drinks.  Parents are asked to bring the following:  7th grade girls-bring salads, 8th grade girls bring desserts, 7th grade boys bring desserts and 8th grade boys bring salads.

            The Diamond Gem Award will be presented to a teacher and a staff member who goes above and beyond to support our schools.  The winners will be selected from nominations made by students and community members.  A paper version has been sent home with students.  An e-version is available online by clicking the link in the News section of the district home page.  Nominations must be turned in by May 10th.

            All library books must be turned in no later than May 11th.

            8th grade promotion will be held on Friday, May 12th, beginning at 6:00 pm in the high school.

            Middle School Field Day will be held on Wednesday, May 17th.

            Last Day of School will be Friday, May 19th.  


            If a student is absent from school, the automated system calls parents to verify the absence.  Please call the middle school prior to 9:00 a.m. to report a student absent and to request homework assignments.


          All 7th and 8th grade students participating in sports for the 2017-2018 school year MUST have a physical and proof of insurance before they can take part in ANY sport, including practices.  A MSHSAA form as well as a drug form must also be completed and signed by ALL parents/guardians before students can participate in any school sponsored sport.  


         The Lumen Parent Portal is  available for parent use.  Please contact the Middle School office at 325-5336   extension 2001 if you have questions regarding the parent portal.  The parent portal allows parents to monitor grades, lunch account balances, tardies, absences, etc.
