by Dakota Prier

March 14, 2012

The Diamond football team is getting prepared for their 2012 season as we speak. Coach Davied has all football players who are not in a spring sport in the weight room working hard to get ready for next year's season. After losing five seniors, two of whom are going on to play football in college, he is looking to have another good season. The Wildcats went 4-6 last season showing all fans that they are capable of doing great things. This is the best record Diamond has seen in many years. Diamond head coach Aaron Davied led the Wildcats to this record after his two previous years of coaching going 1-9, and only his third year as head coach.

Any football players who are not in a spring sports are expected to attend off season workouts every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. until school is out. Once school ends, they begin their summer off season on Tuesday, May 22nd from 6:30-8:30 a.m. After the first week, they will lift Monday through Thursday from 6:30-8:30 a.m. In June, the Wildcats will be attending 7 on 7 passing league every Monday at Webb City High School at 7:00 p.m. In July, Diamond is hosting their own team camp starting on Monday, July 16th and continuing all the way through Wednesday, July 25th. After their team camp, they go to Evangel to do their annual camp up there. Times and everything else for the camps is to be announced.

Good luck Wildcats with another good season ahead of you!
