The Diamond R-4 alternative school is new to the district. This program is for junior high and high school students. It gives students a fresh start and a better setting for the students in which to learn.
Learning isn't the only thing the students are doing. The students set up service projects around the community for themselves to do. Each student has a role in organizing these service projects. Just recently they did three hours of community service including picking up trash and re-painting lockers. Every home football game, the students set up the field and get it ready for the game.
The students have what they call, Mad Monday. The students get together and think of one way they can make a difference that week.
These students are making a difference in the community, one choice at a time.
