Mrs. Rebecca Evans has taught for four years. Luckily, all four of those years have been at Diamond Elementary School. But before she started teaching, she went to college and worked as a waitress to pay the bills. Her decision to become a teacher came because she has a great love for kids and learning. She especially loves her fourth graders, as you can read below:
LG: What grade do you like teaching the most?
RE: I like teaching fourth.
LG: Why the fourth grade?
RE: The students are awesome.
LG: What subject do you like teaching them the most?
RE: Social Studies and Reading.
LG: What was your favorite subject in school?
RE: I liked Social Studies.
LG: And what subject did you not like when you were in school?
RE: I didn’t like math.
LG: Why not?
RE: Because it’s math.
Mrs. Evans has been married for two years. Even though she loves kids, she doesn’t have any. She believes she and her husband are too young, but they do want to have kids in a few years.
With my last question, I asked, “What is something interesting about you that most people at Diamond wouldn’t know?” She replied, “ I like to sing in the shower."
