2010 Crowder Quill

Diamond Wins Traveling Trophy Award!

The Crowder Quill is a literary-art magazine published by the Magazine Production class at Crowder College. The purpose of this publication is to encourage and showcase the creative abilities of local writers, artists, and photographers of Crowder and its surrounding areas. The Quill is published each spring semester and consists of all the winning entries in the literary and art categories. 

Several entries from Diamond High students were printed in the Quill this year. The winners are as follows:

Color Art

- Gloria Cepeda with Kingfisher on Flower (Honorable Mention)

- Katherine Reynolds with Birch Trees (Silver Award)

Black & White Art

- Cameron Skinner with Give Peace a Chance (Student Representative)

Color Photography

- Larry Fulcher with The Big Dog (Silver Award)

Black & White Photography

- Larry Fulcher with Diamond in the Rough & The Ram (Bronze & Silver Awards)

- Angela Kuri with Je T'Aime (Honorable Mention)

Poetry 

- Angela Kuri with Once Upon a Dream & That "One" Girl (Bronze & Gold Awards)

Digital 

- Angela Kuri with Run Away with Me (Silver Award)

Out of the fourteen schools participating, Diamond High placed first for the 2010 Traveling Trophy. This honorable award is presented to the high school winning the most awards for its entries in the 2010 Crowder Quill. The award is calculated on points: gold counts as four, silver counts as three, bronze counts as two, honorable mention and student representative as one point each. 

Congratulations to all the winners! May next year be full of even more talents students!
