International Club takes field trip
May 17, 2007
Diamond's International Club took a cultural trip to Heifer Ranch in Arkansas to see what their organization does to help stamp out hunger. Visiting their "Global Village" was the highlight of the trip. Replicas of homes in poverty-stricken areas of the world are built in small villages on the ranch property. Groups can even spend the week in the villages tending the gardens and animals and cooking with the available technology. We visited Zambia, China, Guatemala, Thailand, the Appalachians, and an urban slum. (But we didn't spend the night!) See the slide show for our pictures and visit Heifer Ranch's web site for more information.
