by Heather Asbell

April 14, 2008

The team of Spencer Lowden, Jeremy Robbins, and Micah Alford has qualified for National History Day competition to be held at College Park, Maryland in June.  The project, a web site entitled "Conflict and Compromise: The World Near Nuclear War," took second place at the regional contest on March 7 at MSSU qualifying them for the state competition.  The project received second place at the state contest on April 12 at University of Missouri-Columbia qualifying them for the national competition.  The project went up against 22 other competitors from around the state to earn the second place prize.  Only the top two competitors qualify for the national contest.  National History Day is a widely acclaimed academic enrichment program that promotes the study of history in our schools.  The 2008 theme is Conflict and Compromise in History.  Congratulations to Spencer, Jeremy, and Micah and good luck at nationals!
